PJM, the grid operator behind ComEd, pays facilities that can cut electric load for a few hours during grid emergencies. The price cleared at the legal maximum for the third year running and is fixed through May 2029. We enroll your facility, handle every filing, and pay you whether or not an event is ever called.

Who qualifies

Any ComEd-territory facility that can shed 100 kW or more within 30 minutes: cold storage, food and beverage plants, foundries and metal shops, plastics, water and wastewater plants, hospitals with backup generators, campuses and large buildings. A 1,000 kW commitment pays $55,000 a year.

What counts as a reduction

Chillers, compressors, ovens, furnaces, or one production line
Pre-cooling cold rooms and cycling refrigeration
Non-critical lighting and ventilation
Running your permitted backup generators

What we need from you

A one-page letter of intent, authorization to pull 12 months of ComEd interval data, and 20 minutes with your plant engineer to set the number.

Capacity prices are PJM Base Residual Auction results: $329.17/MW-day (2026/27), $333.44 (2027/28), $325.00 (2028/29). Payments are per kilowatt of nominated reduction after PJM accreditation. Events and windows follow PJM load management rules. Minimum enrollment 100 kW. Prairie Grid Partners is an independent origination partner; enrollments are placed with a PJM-registered curtailment service provider.
